Fair Trade Purchase Policy at Post-Secondary Institutions

The initial goal of this working group is to get institutions to adopt a Fair Trade Purchase Policy for coffee.

Oxfam Canada had initiated a working group in Toronto to get post-secondary institutions in Ontario, Canada to adopt a Fair Trade purchase policy. McMaster University in Hamilton has an official Fair Trade Purchase Policy with respect to coffee. This official policy can be viewed here:

The initial goal of this working group is to get institutions to adopt a Fair Trade Purchase Policy for coffee, whereby all on-campus coffee retailer will be required to offer customers Transfair certified Fair Trade coffee.

Tina Conlon, Programme coordinator with Oxfam Canada in Toronto at that time was moderating this working group. This group is no longer active. The following post-secondary institutions had participated in the working group:
